2018 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – Baby & Child

Hi mamas!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is in full effect, so I spent all of yesterday going through baby and child to pick out my favorite finds for your little ones. Here is what I came up with! You’ll see that I found some cute outerwear for baby boys, while demin was the theme for little girls. And of course pale pink for baby girls. Lastly, I found some good wardrobe staples for little boys. Happy Shopping!

Fall Fresh

Peter’s half-zip pullover: Ralph Lauren (use code CHEER for 30% off) | Button-down shirt: Ralph Lauren (use code CHEER for 30% off) | Jeans: Ralph Lauren (use code CHEER for 30% off) | Boots: Hunter

Caroline’s dress: Jacadi (last year’s style, but similar styles here and here) | Cable-knit tights: Gap Kids | Boots: Hunter

We had the most gorgeous fall weather this past weekend, so of course we had to get out and run around! I was thinking I might use these photos for our Christmas cards, but my husband is voting for summery photos from our Newport Coast vacation. What do you think?

Can you tell I love navy and ivory for the fall/winter months and white and blue for the summer months? 😉 The perfect color combos! And don’t be afraid to add in a pop of red or hunter green for the holidays.

Tea Party!

IMG_5973IMG_5940IMG_5961IMG_5981IMG_5954IMG_6004IMG_5964IMG_5969IMG_6001IMG_5942IMG_5932IMG_5929IMG_5926IMG_5923IMG_5953

Paris nightgown: Pottery Barn Kids (on sale and also in pink) | Tea set: Pottery Barn Kids (similar style here or here; for older girls – here) | Petit four toys: HABA (similar style here) | Plush lamb: Pottery Barn Kids

With these cooler Chicago temperatures, I’ve been doing my best to keep this little one busy and out of trouble… which means, I need to get creative and find new indoor activities! Although I bought this tea party set a while ago, Caroline is finally the right age (26 months) to play pretend with her lamb and have a tea party. Judging from the smiles, I think we may need to have weekly tea parties 😉

Thinking a little ahead… a tea party set makes for a great Christmas gift!

Also, can we talk about this darling nightgown?! It is the sweetest little Parisian pattern from Pottery Barn Kids. Caroline started twirling around the moment I put it on her! I’m tempted to buy it for her in the pink pattern too.

Cute & Cozy

Open stich sweater: Tucker + Tate | Cable-knit leggings: Tucker + Tate (in color: pink glow)| Bailey bow boots: Ugg

It’s definitely starting to feel and look like Fall around here! The leaves are all changing colors and falling from the sky and it’s making me super excited for Christmas!

Caroline is wearing a cute and cozy look from Nordstrom’s brand Tucker + Tate. What is fun about this ensemble is that it goes from 2T all the way to 8 year girls!

Oh and it was not my idea to have Caroline lie down in the leaves! She went right over to the pile and dove in, multiple times! She thought it was hilarious, and I suppose the pictures turned out pretty cute though 😉

Gap Kids is probably my favorite retailer when it comes to looking for basic and essential items for my little kids. The clothes tend to be affordable (especially when you get 40% off most days – look for a code on their website!) and can often be paired with higher end products to complete a look.  They are also good for preschool days when you know paint and sand are going to land on them 😉  That said, you do have to pick through a lot of items to find what you are looking for, so hopefully I did that for you this season! Let me know if you’d want me to do this for boys too!

Fall Casual

IMG_5391IMG_5442IMG_5379IMG_5437IMG_5415IMG_5444IMG_5431IMG_5413IMG_5425IMG_5410IMG_5369IMG_5364IMG_5390IMG_5396IMG_5361IMG_5446

Embroidered sweatshirt: H&M | Skinny jeans: H&M (similar style also by Hudson) | Mary Jane shoes: Ralph Lauren | Hair bow: Modern Piggy

While Peter was at preschool yesterday, I took Caroline to a new park and she turned it into an agility course 😉 She was climbing up rocks, jumping off stumps, weaving through the bike rack, running up and down hills, and much more. It was pretty cute to watch and she was very excited about the falling leaves too!

This affordable outfit is perfect for preschool days and park trips! The jeggings are very stretchy and hide all signs of dirt. You can always layer this look with this cozy puffy vest for those chillier fall days. Oh and one thing on sizing, I find that H&M runs large. Caroline is wearing 1 1/2 – 2 years.

Cozy in Soft Pink

IMG_5302IMG_5341IMG_5309IMG_5324IMG_5331IMG_5311IMG_5319IMG_5327IMG_5305

Bow shirt: Lili Gaufrette | Bow pants: Lili Gaufrette (similar style in dress here) | Headband: Emery Common

This cozy soft pink set from Lili Gaufrette could not be any sweeter! I love all the bows and it is baby soft, which makes it extra comfy on a chilly fall day. I found it at a local boutique in Lake Forest, IL, Penny’s from Heaven. They don’t offer much online, but I highly recommend checking out this darling shop if you live in the Chicago area and are looking for timeless, quality pieces for your little ones.

While Lili Gaufrette doesn’t have a unique site, I found that Childrensalon and Melijoe carry a good portion of their collection.

Transitioning to Fall

IMG_5287IMG_5281IMG_5255IMG_5279IMG_5261IMG_5280IMG_5276IMG_5262IMG_5288

Thermal shirt: Peek (similar styles herehere, and here)| White pants: Ralph Lauren (sold out, but similar style here) | Chukka boots: Toms | Leather belt: Janie and Jack

Yesterday we picked up some “fantasy” pumpkins, mini pumpkins, and gourds from Trader Joes… and Peter got a total kick out of playing with them! We are definitely getting into the fall spirit around here!

Oh, and I have to mention how much I love this color combo for Autumn. It looks great on moms too! And check out these chukka boots from Toms. They are ideal for little boys (and moms of little boys) who don’t want to deal with laces on fall boots. They also seem to have a flexible soul and will break in nicely.

(If you feel like white pants are a terrible idea on your little boy, switch them out for some cute blue jeans to complete the look. My favorite jeans for boys are from Polo Ralph Lauren.)

I’ve been living in activewear these days! And while I’d like to blame it on the pregnancy… I really think that it is just the most practical “mom uniform” when you have young kids. Moms, I know you agree 😉

Here are some fun new activewear finds! Don’t you just love the fall colors?! As you can see, I marked the ones I have recently bought and find them to be maternity friendly.
