Sunglasses: Toucca Kids (use code “lapetiteplum15” for 15% off and free shipping!) | Swimsuit: Minnow Swim (sold out, but similar styles here and here) | Pullover: Vineyard Vines | Jeans: Ralph Lauren (similar style here and on sale!) | Rain boots: Hunter

Peter is all about his new shades and wouldn’t take them off on our Cabo vacation! Aren’t they so cute though?! Peter is wearing the “Blonde Havana Brandon Wayfarer.”

Sunglasses can often be the forgotten (yet functional) accessory for kids! And I truly cannot say enough great things about these Toucca Kids sunglasses. They are made of the highest quality and definitely passed Peter’s durability test as he dragged them through the sandy beaches of Cabo 😉 I urge you to read why the founders of Toucca Kids, Jason and Helen, had the idea of starting a kids’ sunglass company… it is so sweet! I’m sure like me, you can relate with their desire to research every baby product out there to find the very best for their son.

I also wanted to point out that their glasses are polarized, offer 100% UVA/UVB protection, and have shatter/scratch-resistant lenses. It’s such peace of mind knowing your kid’s eyes are getting the proper sun protection they need.

Toucca Kids is kindly offering 15% off and free shipping to my followers when you use the code “lapetiteplum15”. So go check out their full collection! I know you won’t be disappointed.

Our Little Teething Secret

Caroline’s teething necklace: Bumble & Bee | Dress: Zara (similar style here) | Sandals: Salt Water Sandals by Hoy | Hair bow: Wunderkin Co.

Marina’s necklace: Bumble & Bee | Off the shoulder ruffle sleeve top: Calson (at Nordstrom – only $59!) | Jeans: AG Jeans | Perforated wedge: Marc Fisher (color: mushroom suede)

Caroline has been cutting her canine teeth over the past month, and I couldn’t seem to find her any relief, until I stumbled upon these adorable necklaces from Bumble & Bee. Their products are both functional and stylish… and I absolutely love that they are completely handmade with the finest quality and natural materials! Can you tell Caroline adores her first, very own necklace?! She is such a girl and gets so excited when she puts it on. As you can see from the photos, she is also a big fan of chewing the wooden beads and finding comfort.

Bumble & Bee is based out of Sweden, and of course, I have a very special place in my heart for anything Swedish, given my dad’s side of the family all still lives there 😉 The creativity and brains behind the operation is Melissa, and she truly could not be a sweeter and more inspiring mother and entrepreneur!

[Side note: The nursing necklace for mamas works well for baby and toddler boys. So Melissa’s products aren’t just for little girls!]

Beach Day

Summer animals top & ruffle shorts: Mini Boden (sold at Nordstrom) | Hair bow: Posey Baby

I just love the little pom pom trim on this subtle animal print trip for a pop of color. The pattern and material is so light and summery… the perfect sun outfit. It also comes with adorable light blue ruffle bottoms that are an easy color to coordinate with when dressing your boy(s).

I’m a big fan of coordinating my kids’ clothing colors. It sounds so silly when I say this outloud, but I actually think I am calmer when I look at my kids and they are coordinating versus wearing totally clashing colors and styles. I suppose it is kind of like going into a neat neutral room versus a busy, colorful room, where you don’t know where to look. What kind of room do you prefer? It must be a personality thing 😉

Oh and can you tell my little Caroline is completely into collecting rocks and sticks these days. She gets super focused and won’t even look up to smile, which is very unlike her!

Last Day of Mommy & Me Class with Caroline

Caroline’s white embroidered dress: Zara (similar style here) | Knit sweater: Beba Bean (runs large) |Hair bow: Wee Ones | Scalloped shoes: Pazitos (on sale!)

Marina’s eyelet sweater: J.Crew (on sale!) | Jeans: rag & bone (similar style here)

Today was Caroline’s last day of Mommy & Me!! How did the school year go so fast?! I can’t say I’m ready for her to go to a drop off just yet, but I know she will have so much fun at summer camp in a few weeks. I am thankful the program would let her join even though she isn’t two until mid-August. I know once Peter starts summer camp a couple days a week, Caroline will be eager to go along with him 😉

Now it is time for the Chicago summer to arrive!!

(We had to do these photos quick, so Caroline didn’t turn into a popsicle.)

Beach Gingham

Gingham button down shirt: Egg By Susan Lazar (50% off!) | White cotton twill shorts: Egg By Susan Lazar | Boat shoes: Sperry Kids

Here is another one of my favorite spring/summer looks from Egg By Susan Lazar! It is the perfect nautical look. How cute are these chambray inner cuffs on this charming gingham button down shirt?! Peter is in a 4T, so he has some room to grow and can use this into fall by pairing it with jeans. For summer, I love this button down with these white shorts. The have a great elastic waistband without looking too sporty and they are very light weight.

Summer Whites

White eyelet dress: Cat & Jack from Target (only $15! Similar styles here and here) | Hair bow: Wee Ones | Teething necklace: Bumble & Bee

Summer came early! It’s only May and we had 85 degrees in Chicago today! Caroline and I were loving the heatwave and having a blast running around barefoot. Like most toddlers, there is certainly no relaxing when you are outside with Caroline… she is constantly on the move and pushing the limits. Here new favorite activity is to walk along the top of our little paver wall and pretend it is a balance beam. What kind of tricks are your tots up to these days?

Don’t be afraid to put your little ones in white for these warm summery days! They look absolutely adorable and oh so angelic in white. Also, it will keep them cool in the heat. The other day I found this perfect little eyelet dress at Target for only $15! Grab it before they are sold out! The nice thing about this dress being so affordable, is that if it does end up get a little dirty, you won’t feel like it’s the end of the world. [Stain tip: watermelon is the worst, so undress your kids before that refreshing snack or treat the clothing right after!*]

One other thing, the dress is meant to be an off-the-shoulder, but Caroline wasn’t feeling that style, so I just had her wear it like a normal dress. I think that worked out well! Don’t you? Plus this way her shoulders won’t get burnt.

* Use a white cotton cloth or white paper towel to blot up as much of the liquid in the stain as possible. Use a gentle touch and don’t rub. Rubbing will push the stain deeper into the fibers. Mix a solution of two teaspoons of dish washing detergent in two cups of warm water.

Rompers & Tulips

Pinstripe ruffle-sleeve romper: Egg By Susan Lazar (available in other colors too!) | Sandals: Salt Water Sandals by Hoy

Can you tell Caroline loves tulips?! She could not get enough of our mother/daughter trip to the Chicago Botanic Garden last Friday, while Peter spent the morning at preschool. I had to be very speedy with my photo snapping skills, because this little lady kept trying to pull the petals off 😉

There is nothing cuter than a baby girl in a bubble! I absolutely adore this pinstripe romper with the flutter sleeves, pleating, and embroidery work. All these delicate details make it extra sweet. As a bonus, Egg By Susan Lazar conveniently added snaps for easy changes. As mamas, we all know that messing around with tricky buttons and a quick moving toddler can be frustrating.

Mother’s Day Treat

Marina’s blush sheath dress: Maggy London (at Nordstrom)

Caroline’s smocked dress: Janie and Jack (on sale) | Sandals: Elephantito (at 6pm.com for 25% off)

Peter’s striped button-up: Jacadi (similar styles here and here) | White pants: Ralph Lauren (on sale for $15!!) | Leather belt: Janie and Jack | Loafers: Ralph Lauren | Book: Mighty Mighty Construction Site (one of Peter’s favorite)

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I loved every second of our relaxing weekend. We filled our days with early morning family cuddles (aka mom & dad didn’t feel like getting out of bed just yet), backyard playtime, sunny walks and topped it all off with a delicious Sunday brunch. I feel refreshed and relaxed… I hope you do to!

Oh and one thing about my outfit, I absolutely love this blush dress I’m wearing and I find the price to be fairly reasonable. It is perfect for a daytime spring occasion, where you want to dress slightly conservative, yet still feel feminine with the lace detailing. I wore it last year for Caroline’s Christening 😉

Luxury Pajamas

Mama Marina’s pajamas: Petite Plume (on sale)

Caroline’s pajamas: Petite Plume

Peter’s Pajamas: Petite Plume

Outdoor sofa: Restoration Hardware

Perennials pillow: Restoration Hardware (similar style here)

Petite Plume is definitely the best place to find luxury pajamas! I love these darling gingham sets, but had the hardest time choosing from their adorable selection. I think I may need to place another order soon! Their lightweight, breathable cotton makes them perfect for the warmer weather too.

These classic pajamas would also be the perfect gift. You have the option to monogram them, and they are delivered in the most beautiful, high quality box with white ribbon.  As a reference, I found that the kid sizes fit pretty true to size, but that the adult sizes ran a bit large.

Oh and don’t mind Caroline eating a strawberry 😉 She was lingering with her breakfast that morning, so I let her take some of it outside.

Beach Vibes

Embroidered top: Tucker + Tate (at Nordstrom, on sale) | White distressed jeans: Peek Kids (also available at Nordstrom) | Hair bow: Gap Kids

Let me tell you, it is very tricky to photograph this little girl by water! All she wants to do is run in it, no matter what the temperature is 😉 Thankfully we were able to avoid Caroline getting drenched this time, but we had several close calls, where I had to quickly run and grab her.

That said, I was able to snap a few pictures to show off this adorable outfit. The colors are perfect for warm, summery-feeling weather. I just love these distressed white jeans from Peek Kids. While Nordstrom.com says they run small, I actually found them to run a tiny bit large. As a reference, Caroline is wearing 12-18 months here and she is around 20 months of age.
